The dog is part of a family of similar animals that include wolves,
coyotes, foxes, jackals, and wild
hunting dogs such as the Dingo and African
Wild Hunting Dog, who all share common characteristics.
Many of these wild dogs
have been claimed to be the domestic dog's wild ancestor but the exact origins
of
the dog and domestication histroy of the dog are uncertain.
First thing is first, dogs are a big responsibility. They required much attention,
food and water, exercise,
training, etc. Bieng a responsible dog owner mean being the best
owner/caregiver to your dog that you can be.
Much more than "food, water, and shelter", you have to
realize that a pet is for LIFE, and dedicating yourself to the life
of your dog. When you adopt,
you are providing your dog with a family and a home, not just food and shelter.
Dogs are
very social, and isolation from the family can result in an unhappy, and ultimately unhealthy dog.
