My daily schedule seems to increase every week. I tend to add extra hours of studying, run an extra errand, do something for someone else or attend a fitness class on campus. I never have time to rest or be by myself.
My daily schedule starts at 7am: i wake up to take a shower, go to school from 8am-12pm: right after school I leave for work at 1pm and stay until 5pm. After work I go home to eat something and do homework
for four college courses for about three to four hours. Normally by then my phone is constantly ringing and my roomates are talking to me about unecessary things such as what happened at school or about boys.
I go to aerobics classes two to three times a week and visit friends. How do I do all of this?? I have no idea, but it happens. The consequences of Americans being failrly busy are: they work excessively in the workplace,
their eating habits are incorrect, and parenting as well as personal lives are minimized.

WHaT a NoRMaL Day iS LiKe
24 hours in a day does not seem to be enough time for alot of people. In 2005, statisitics prove that time usage on a average workday, ages 25-54 with children are mostly spent working. 1.1 hours spent eating
and drinking, 1 hour for household activities, 2.6 hours for leisure and sports, 2.5 hours for other, and 7.6 hours for sleeping and 8 hours for working. The Bureau of Labor Statisitics confirmed theses statistics. The year
after that in 2006, everything increased. The Bureau of Labor Statisitcs proved that Americans in 2006 worked for 8.63 hours, slept 3.75 hours, cared for others for 0.74 hours, ate and drank 1.23 hours, did household
activities for 1.79 hours, played sports for 5.9 hours, and wasted 2.77 hours doing other things. From the results, Americans are so occupied with working so much that they have no time for other activities such as: time with
their children, eating a home cooked meal for dinner, and cleaning.

Americans have tha most trouble keeping themselves occupied. They tend to forget that they put in a lot of worktime and overtime at work. "About 68 percent of Americans say they were working overtime
during last month." A consequence of this overload of work is causing our society to drive while drowsy and stress issues that can damage a person's health. According to Entrepreneur Daily, "people who are always busy are afraid
they wil be left out if they slow down." Americans stay occupied with working to avoid dealing with big issues such as death, illness, diseases, and terrorism. A typical shift at a job is 8 hours a day, but most Americans work overtime,
which is 10-12 hours a day. Working excessively is bad because a perosn is unable to get other things done such as running errands or sleeping.

Many Americans are so occupied with their daily schedule's that they barely have time to eat healthy. Eating fast foods or eating on the go is a consequence of being busy. Majority of people eat a typical
fast food meal, which consists of:a hamburger, fries, and soda at restaurants like, McDonald's and Burger King. These types of fast food restaurants are very conveniant and inexpensive for people on the go, but unhealthy for a person's body. According to Environmental Health,"Americans
who lived on nothing but fast food for an entire month, gained 25 pounds, which damaged their liver." There are some restaurants where a person can eat semi-healthy, but the best way to eat healthy consist s of a salad, baked chicken, and vegetables. Eventhough it may take some time cooking, eating
a homecooked healthy meal is beter than fast food.

Americans do not always result in negative consequences by working consistently. Many people are able to handle working more than 10 hours a day, have time for family and friends, and have healthy eating habits. For instance,
I attend as a University full-time student, work 20 hours a week, go to church, hang out with friends, study, and still have time for sleep. It is not easy but it gets done and is possible.
It is just not good to continue livng life so busy because if I continue I may get used to it and start making it a way of life. I am able to handle many things at once, but there comes a time where I can only handle so much. People who can manage thier schedule with mulitple of tasks, I look up to them.

While many Americans are too busy, others believe the opposite according to the Church Times,"being busy reflects the character of the energetic, creative person God made them." Church Times defines busy as "fruitful and active." People are so much busier than ever because there are
many opportunities that are open to both men and women in our society. The way people work, live, and handle situations has changed. For instance, women in particular, have benefited from this particular change by having childcare and able to still work from their own home.

The negative aspect of Americans being busy differ from overworking themselves, eating improperly, and not managing time with family and friends. Although 24 hours in a day is not alot of time for everything to get done, if a person can manage a
schedule were they have enough time for everything, then it is fine. On the other hand, if our society continues working and staying extremely busy, there will not be any time for anything else.
