The lottery could be seen as either a form of gambling or a form of donations. Alabama’s choice on not having a lottery has been criticized and agreed with. Alabama is know as the “bible belt”, the political system is one sided, in which it does not tend to bend with the continuously changing society. There are numerous examples in which this exists. Gambling is considered a sin in various religious groups which is why Alabama’s justice system will not allow a sin to become a legal activity for their citizens. The amount of poverty in Alabama causes me to think other wise. As one can see, there as been very positive results from the Georgia lottery and many others. The Georgia Lottery after being in existence for fourteen years has brought in over thirty billion dollars for their state. Lets think twice before not wanting a lottery!
