Blood pressure, temperature, weight, and height these are the things Physician Assistant’s(PA’S) who may also be known as Child Health Associates,MEDEX,Physician Associates,Anetetheologists Assistants, or Surgeon’s Assistants do at the doctor office.
There are many types of PA’s; one might see them in the Emergency Room, assisting a surgeon during surgery, or simply at a clinic.
While there is always a need for Healthcare workers,PA’s employment is expected to rise faster than average through year 2010(Physician Assistants).Which makes it a greater career to want to go into .But, what exactly does it take to become one?
First off, one must possess three qualities: confidence, emotional stability, and leadership skills. The main reason why one must have those three qualities to be a PA is because patients trust them and their decisions.
They are literally putting their lives into the PA’s hands and want a person who knows what they are doing, and if not, then it should still come off as if they do. They also must be able to work well under pressure because PA’s carry a huge portion of the doctor’s work load.
So, if one cannot handle stress then they might want to consider another carrer.According to medical student, Brett Feldman, “Physician Assistant’s will always be stressed out, and in the beginning they will be worried that they have too much work or not enough work(“Feldman).
