1. IP addresses and phone numbers both connect you to a single place/server. Both are made up of a unique series of numbers that are connected to a specife place. 
2. An FTP is a secure way to send file because you must have a username and password to access it, a HTTP anyone can access. An FTP is much more private, but a HTTP is much more convienient.

5.The icon in front of a pathname is a folder and the icon in front of a URL is a web page. Also the URL is preceeded by HTTP:// and the pathname starts with the drive name.
