Lab 1.2 1. An IP address is like a phone number in that it "calls" a specific website when you enter the IP address. Just like a phone number calls a certain phone line. 2. FTP is more private in that you need a user name and a password to log in to send anything or see anything. HTTP is more convenient because it does not require any log in. 3. Folders / directories contain pathways to retrieve the data on the computer. 4. Pathnames and URLs are both paths / ways to retrieve data either from your computer or from the internet. 5. An URL contains the name of the machine you are retrieving the file from, 'http,' the host machine, and the file name. A pathname just contains the path to which you access a file on your computer through various directories and folders.
