My name is Kentress Langford. I have been working for UAB Hospital for almost 4 years as a Patient Care Technician. I started when I was 18, one month shy of my 19th birthday. I started out on Pulmonary and transferred to the Nursing Resourse Support Services on January 8th 2006. I have been there for a little over one year and love every minute of it. Especially the experience and knowledge I have gained from working on other services such as: ICUs, Medical Nursing, Oncology, Surgery, and Women Services. University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital is world renown. People come from all across the country to seek the medical care of UAB. The Cardiology department is ranked number 15th in the country and UAB is the only hospital in Alabama and one of few in the Southeast that holds the Magnet Status for Nursing.
Being a Patient Care Technician has awarded the great experience of dealing with patients. One day I would love to become an Obstetrician/Gynologist and do what I can to improve women's health. In being here at UAB I have learned that not all cases in medicine has an answer, I will not be able to help everyone, and no matter what I do I cannot please everyone, but I am going to do try. This web page will assist the public in choosing their health facility and give them some insite on how the UAb hospital is excellent bedside manner administered at UAB,the concern about controling the level of pain, the precaution taken to prevent in house falls, and excellent rehabilitation treatment that goes at UAB.
