2. They are alike in that they can both store different types of files.  They are different because hard disks are semi-permanent storage and RAM is temporary.  The hard disk has a large amount of storage space while RAM is super fast.

3. Libraries are a good example of hierarchial organization because they have broad categories that gradually become more and more specific.
