Post Lab Questions 1.1

1. Computers can function as a calculator. Computers can function as a tv by streaming video. Computers can also be used as gaming machines.
2. RAM and hard disks are both forms of memory. RAM, or Random Access Memory, is faster than hard disk memory. RAM is fast because it is random instead of sequential like hard disk memory. Although RAM is faster, RAM is erased when the computer powers down. Hard disk memory is sequential and sequential access is slower than random access. But unlike RAM, hard disk memory does not get erased when the computer powers down.
3. A few examples of non-computing hierarchical organization would be a kingdom, the church, and large businesses.
